Thanksgiving

We had a BIG Thanksgiving lunch at our house today. Brian went to run a 5 K while I set the tables and the kids went for a VERY long walk. We counted more than 45 people at our house. The kids colored on their paper table cloth and played on the swing set. Brian set up a volleyball court in the grass and horseshoe pits in the dirt. We rode on the quads and sat around enjoying having our family together. It was such a lovely day with the clouds and rain coming and going. Brian said that the weatherman said that it rained in Phoenix every 12 years, and it looks like that tradition holds true. We all ate inside and played the wii fit to burn off our turkey calories. Some people crashed on the couches and floor for a little nap. All in all, it was a wonderful day. Brian and I love to have parties and today was no exception. It was a great day.
Here is a list of 15 things that I am thankful for:

1. Brian
2. Charlee, Oaklee, Jaxson, and Baby Trevee
3. My Mom and Dad and Brian's Mom and Dad
4. Church
5. My Primary Class
6. My Friends
7. Good Books
8. Brian's Job
9. Staying home with my kids
10. Blogs and Journals
11. All of my siblings and in-laws
12. My great house
13. TV
14. The Plan of Salvation
15. Happy Pills ;)

In-Laws Day!!

I have the cutest set of in-laws ever!! I really lucked out in this department. Today I got up and started to clean up my house when my doorbell rang. Who else, but 2 of my funny brother in laws there to "Work". Okay. My cute Father in law sent them to power wash my back porch to get it ready for Thanksgiving dinner. We are having it over here because I love to have parties and my Mother in law is grateful because she doesn't have to hostess the shin dig. Devin and Ryan came in after they were all done and had a tea party with Oaklee in my dining room. It was so cute. I told them that they had better hope John, my Father in law, did not check my blog today and see the pics of them "working". Devin said in a near perfect John impression, "Well, you guys look like you had a busy morning". They are so funny, so thanks to all of my in- laws for their love and support and thank you for your help to make my life great!!
Ryan and Devin with Oaklee!
Brian's brother, Rich is getting married this Saturday to Treslee. The boys all went out for a boys night out on Friday. For some reason they had a box of Fresh Burrito shirts in the car, so they all got one and yelled, "Burrito" every time anyone got a spare or strike. I asked Brian to take a picture, so that is what I got. One Picture!! I thought the girls would get a kick out of it!!

A little R&R

I found my cream cheese in the fridge with a bunch of little finger holes in it. I thought it was pretty indicative of how well I watched my kids this weekend. Mom and Dad took some time off!!

BIG Nerds!!

So, I went with some family and friends to the 12:01 showing of Twilight last night. The movie was GREAT!! I really enjoyed the changes made from the book. They stuck to the book pretty well, but... It was GREAT!! That's all I'm going to say about the movie. On to the dorkiness!! My cute mother in law got us Edward shirts and Brooklynn and I posed for a cute pic. Some of my cute friends from church came and so did my Aunt and her friend. My mom and I were giddy in the car on the way there and back. We waited in line from about 9 pm and got great seats. I hope everyone enjoys the film as much as I did and has good friends to share it with:)

November in AZ!!

So, today at school, I was a little upset by the fact that 95% of the kids were dressed in shorts and short sleeved shirts. What is that all about?? It is November!! Thanksgiving is next week!! When do I get my winter?? I sent the kids to play in the backyard this afternoon. I usually don't let them out alone, but I wanted to clean without helpers. We live on an acre that is not fenced, so neighborhood dogs come visit and scare the kids, but today, I needed them out of my house. I went on the back porch to see them playing in swimsuits in the hose. Where is Winter??!! The hose should not be refreshing in November. So, let me look at the positives. I don't have to wear a bulky jacket to go out. I don't need a scarf or hat or snow tires (EEWWW). I'll take what I got!! All I can say is that it is better than living in the snow;)

The Water Truck

On the way to pick Charlee up from school today, Oaklee and I had an interesting conversation:

O: Mom, why does that truck have water in it?
M: I don't know, Oaklee.
O: Oh, I know, it is for when the truck gets thirsty!

Yep, that is probably why. So, I took a picture of the truck while I was driving. I know, not very defensive driving, Dad, but I didn't want to forget.

Oaklee!!

Okay, so a couple of weeks ago, Oaklee came in to the bathroom crying. I asked her what was wrong. She pointed to her nose where I saw another jewel she shoved up her nose. I was able to get this one out, but we told her that if she put anything else up her nose, she would have to get her tonsils out again. She did not like this!! I asked her how it got up there and she said, "It was on the counter in the kitchen and the wind blew and it just went up there". Hmmmm. Who else buys that story??

Superman's Yard Services Available!!

Last night I was really sick to my stomach and somewhat ignoring my kids when my mom called me. She asked if I knew where Jaxson was. I thought he was with her, so I responded with a big NO!! She said I needed to come outside to see him. I went out and he was dressed as Superman with a blown up, fake muscle costume on (which sounds like a vacuum when it is on), watering the dirt. He got out 3 or 4 different sized buckets and bowls to fill with his hose. He was drenched. Good thing Arizona is way too hot right now. He looked so cute. I had to laugh and capture it with my trusty Kodak!! Isn't he sooo cute!!??

Oaklee's Cow Carrier

Oaklee came in wearing Charlee's jammy pants up to her boobs. She put her stuffed cow in the top of them and said they were her "baby holder". I think they look more like a cow holder.

I love this!!

When I hug Jax, he hugs me back and pats me on the back without thinking about it. I love this! The girls used to do this, too, but now, not so much. When he does this, it makes me so happy. I sure love my Big boy!!

Okay, I must say that I have the BEST Husband in the world. For one thing, I think he is sooo cute. Yeah, He rocks my world;). Last night after he watched his Suns game and Cardinals game, he turned off the TV and got into bed with me... Get your minds out of the gutter. He then opened the Twilight book that I not so subtly mentioned that he needed to read to get some romance ideas. I fell asleep and he stayed up to read. He is acting like he is impartial to the book, but I can tell he likes it. When I originally asked him to read it, he told me he couldn't because he was not gay... Is that PC?? Oh well. He is reading it because he knows I want him to. This is one of the reasons he is the BEST husband. Another reason he is the best is because I sent him a text today (My first one to him) that said, "I Love You, HoHoHo" (That's what Jax says every night), and he texted back with a cute smiley face blowing a kiss. Yeah, how cute is that. I didn't know his phone could do that. Yet, another reason I have the BEST Husband. The new missionary in our ward noticed my haircut... Brian had no idea for over an hour, but hey, no one is that perfect!! I'll take him anyday.

Our newest nephew!!

Sam Barry was born last Monday and he is soo cute!! We took the whole fam (Ignoring the RSV restrictions) to see him last Tuesday. Oaklee was so funny with him. She kept petting Sam and at one point, I saw her get a quick kiss in there. These pictures don't do the fat little guy justice. He was so cute and plump. When we left, Oaklee said, "Mom, can we have another baby that gets to live with us, not with Heavenly Father?" Sounds like a good question to me. Brian told her that we sure hope so. So, we'll all have to wait and see.:)

Some video of Charlee playing soccer with her Dad

Charlee's Unique Fashion Sense

Charlee go herself dressed to play soccer with her dad. She was sooo proud of herself. I never thought I would see an outfit with stripes, polka dots, plaid, solid, butterfly and a flower look so good together.
Charlee told me, "It's a little chilly in here, so I got dressed". Classic.

A Bumpie Update!!

So, since we took away Oaklee's bumpie a while back (Check out September 27th post), she has made a new friend. Although she still sleeps with a paper print out of the original Bumpie, now a new Bumpie has mangled its way into her heart. I washed the new Bumpie and she asked me where it was almost the entire time. Then we had the following conversation:

Mom: Your Bumpie is in the washer, it stinks.
Oaklee: It does not stink...it's fine!!
Mom: Okay, but it is still in the washer.
Oaklee: But I need his help.
Mom: Oaklee, I did not know Bumpie was a boy.
Oaklee: Hmmm. No, Bumpie is a girl.
Mom: Then doesn't that make him a her?
Oaklee: Yeah, I need his help.
Mom: No, her help.
Oaklee: Oh, Okay, her help.

So, how does a mere blanket get promoted to the status of "Oaklee's Bumpie"?? Well, first it has to be a striped blanket given out at the hospital at birth. Next, it has to be the most tattered of the group of such blankies. Then and most important, it must be stained and stinky. Only when all of these elements are satisfied can Oaklee truly love the "New Bumpie"!!

GoGo and Grandpa Barry

Brian's mom and dad came over the other night for Nina's birthday. John was sooo tired. When he gets tired like this, he seems to give into the grand kids much easier. I guess they catch him off his game and take advantage of it. Here are some pics of the tired GoGo and Grandpa!!
GoGo, Charlee, and Nina

Another Busy Monday

We went to see the Suns play again last night. This time, we took Brian's Dad and Brooklynn and Matt and Nicki with us. We got to sit in the suite and gossip and enjoy our friends and the GREAT game. I got my hair cut yesterday and did not tell Brian about it so I could see his reaction when he saw me... He did not notice!! Yeah, about 4 inches off and...Nothing!! I finally pointed it out to him and he told me he thought something was different, but he did not notice what it was. Oh well, Boys will be Boys. Devin and Allison had their baby yesterday. Sam was born via C-Section yesterday afternoon. He is way cute and fat. 8 lbs 13 oz, I think. So Congrats to them!!

Happy Birthday, Nina!!

Rich's Fiancee, Treslee is coming with a 3 for 1 bonus. She has Elle (pronounced Ellee) and Nina joining our family as well. Nina turned 6 yesterday and they came over to watch the ASU Game and sing happy birthday with us. Elle is 3 and was way fascinated with our toy room. They had to peel her out after a few hours. They will be getting married Thanksgiving Weekend. We are so excited. So, Happy Birthday, Nina!!! And Welcome to the Family!!

My Cute Pictures by Julia!!

HELP!!!!

Okay, so yesterday, Oaklee came in to tell me that her hair was gross. I proceeded to touch it and smell it. It felt gross, but did not smell like the hand soap I thought it was. I asked her what she put in her hair. She showed me the empty tube of Neosporin that Charlee had smothered in her hair. THE WHOLE TUBE!! Yeah...Breathe, Mom, Breathe... okay, so I washed it 5 times with shampoo...Still gross. Then I washed it with liquid DAWN... Still gross. What should I do?? Please help me. Any ideas are welcome...Except for cutting her hair!! I know my fellow bloggies know what to do...HELP!!

Oh, Jaxson!!

Jax came in the other morning telling me and Brian, "Jammies broke. Piggy out!!". This was very concerning to him!!

Our Invention!!

So, last year, Oaklee fell out of the grocery cart and landed on her head. It scarred me to death!! I came up with this invention in my head that night and I asked my mom to make me one. Brian thought it was a good idea, so we patented our invention and named it the sit-n-safe. We took it to the PBS show Everyday Edisons in March and they picked us as a finalist. Well, that meant pretty much nothing, but we were in the top 3% of inventions. After all was said and done with the show, we still need to find a buyer for our product. It is way cool, though. It is an additional seat in the shopping cart. Jaxson always asks to sit in the red seat. It is just nice to not have to yell "Sit Down" the entire time we are in the store. Well, I just thought my peeps would be interested in my invention. I always tease Brian that "when my invention takes off we can..." then I put some outrageous thing at the end of the sentence, but who know?? I guess we will have to wait to see.:) Cute Model, huh??

I'm a Nutcase!!!

Introducing the ramblings of Scottee's mind!!
I was talking to my cute sister in law, Allison, the other day. She is due any day (Come out Baby!!). I love her. I love my friend Dawn who is due in January. I love them, but not all pregnant women make me feel love!! I know, this sounds so bad. I don't know what stage of grief I am in, but if jealous was a stage, I would be there. I can't wait to be pregnant again. Not because I am looking to replace Trevee in any way, but because I need a "Bandaid". When my other sister in law, Nancy, was pregnant with twins, Baylee kinked her cord at 30 weeks and died. Brinlee came out a few weeks later and is a happy, crazy, two year old now. Brinlee was Nancy's bandaid. I want one, too. I am happy. I am sad. I don't know what I am most days. I think I run on medium high most days. If someone asks me how I am doing I am happy they care, but then I have to think about me and I am not good at that right now. I like to focus on the posters for the Fall BBQ (tonight, by the way), or Thanksgiving, or Rich and Treslee's upcoming wedding, or reading the Twilight series over and over again, or ANYTHING ELSE!! Anything but me because when I think about me, I get sad. It is amazing the emotions I go through. When I was a couple months pregnant, my cut doctor put me on antidepressants so I would not kill my kids (I am joking about the killing kids part). At first, I said no, but as I got grouchier, I figured if it made me a better mom, then I should take them. I love my "Happy Pills". They make me take things more in stride. I can not imagine doing through this without something to take the edge off. I know it is taboo to admit to taking happy pills, but if I had diabetes, I would not be scared to be on insulin. Okay, I have rambled enough for one day. I want everyone to know I am dealing... as best as I know how. I am so grateful for all the support and love I get from my fellow bloggies:).

This is how I babysit!

We had Greg and Nancy's kids one day while they were in Hawaii. The thought it was the best thing EVER to take a bath together. I am sure they will hate me later for this picture, but oh well. It sure is cute now!!!
